I am now retired as a Maker – Thanks to all my lovely customers of thatssokelly! I am focusing on my new retirement (or do I call it semi?) dream of becoming an official, professional illustrator! I am excited to get this first blog post in. Back in the day -2010-2017), I worked with all sorts of web design tools, I am having to refresh my brain on all this word press stuff!
I’ll get it all figured out. What really is my goal is to improve my illustration skills. That’s where online sources like Skillshare, Domestika and best of all Creative Club come into play. Today I tool a class from Lisa Glanz – How to add texture to your character illustrations.
I really enjoyed this class. With all this learning, I am finding that documenting the process in my journal is very helpful. I use my own 3 page a day journal in Goodnotes. I have a blank page for drawings/photos/etc and 2 pages for writing. Here’s my notes today from class.
Lisa is a rockstar – I want to have her ease, a defined style (not hers, but my own) and to be a teacher like she is. LOL – she’s younger than me, but I will learn and have super talented youngsters mentor me any day! Plus, we both love dogs…just sayin’.
